After finding a new creative gear and spark in Bolivia earlier this year I decided to go to Alaska for the summer. It was here that I met brodie martin. This young man from St. Augustine, Florida not only stole my focus and forced me to listen when I first heard him pick up a guitar but he also helped me find a new type of inspiration to motivate me in the creation of things. Especially in the collaboration of creating things with others. Even more so when the things we create are not products of my creative mind and don't necessarily belong to me as ideas or even as finished products. However, in brodie I found it easy to find common ground and the energy and will to sit down and work on something to strenuous as music together. So, we decided to take a handful of his original songs as well as a few of his favorite covers and interpretations and make ourselves an album. Because... well, why not.
This is how the idea of what eventually became kenai river sessions began. And in order to spare you precious time between lengthy depictions of word after word about the project and the joy of listening to the project itself I shall pump my vocabulary breaks and instead skip to my favorite string of words to punctuate any part of a creative project.
